I got the same problem with software that comes with my new HP printer.

It came with a disk that contains 350MB of software. And when you put in the disk and when it autoruns you get 2 choices, install and exit when you hit install it will take 15-20 minutes to scan and install if you turn off the smartphoto jibber jabbers. And then you’re stuck with all kinds of stuff running on the background

I only want the drivers to get the darn thing to print, I didn’t ask for win95 sized file to run my printer

So I looked for the drivers on the net and still the driver only pack was 35MB
So my last hope was find the driver files on the disk manually and I found it .. they where only 750KB can you believe it

I have a laptop running Vista with the URL turned off for over a year now. It has never been under attack or had a virus. You might as well get use to Vista befor long XP will not even be supported anymore. Just try and get drivers for Windows 2000.
